Product Overview and Requirements

The Toyota Action for Google Assistant lets you use your Remote Connect service with any Google Assistant powered device, such as the Google Home, Google Home Mini or the Google Assistant App on your smartphone.

Requirements

  1. Google Account.
  2. Google Assistant enabled devices, like Google Home™ smart speakers, or Android™ phones.
  3. Active Entune™ 3.0 Remote Connect Service.
  4. Link Google Assistant Action called “Toyota” using any one:
    • Google Assistant webpage (https://assistant.google.com/explore)
    • Google Assistant App (under Explore / click the compass icon).
    • Google Home App (For Android devices - Account / Settings / Services / Explore For iPhone devices - Account / Explore).
Open the Google Assistant Webpage https://assistant.google.com/explore and search for 'Toyota'.
Enter Toyota Remote Connect/Toyota Owners credentials and click ‘Sign In’.

Choose your Vehicle. Set up the new 4 digit PIN, reenter PIN to confirm and press ‘Save’ to link the Vehicle.

Note: This is not the same PIN used for the Remote Connect App.

If the Remote services for the selected vehicle need renewal or if the vehicle is not Remote Connect compatible and Remote services have never been enrolled, the customer will be presented with the messages as shown.


Toyota “Action” has been successfully linked to the Google Assistant for the selected vehicle.

Execute the Toyota Action Commands from your Google Assistant enabled devices.

Note: Customers who have multiple compatible Toyota vehicles are also supported.

Change which vehicle is set to active via Voice.

  • “List my cars”
  • “What cars do I have?”
  • “What is my active vehicle?”
  • “Set my active vehicle”
Download the Google Assistant App on your device from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Note: Requires iOS version 10.0 or later/ Android device running 5.0 and higher. Some Android phones have a built in Google Assistant. To know if you have Google Assistant, hold down on your home button or icon.

Open the Google Assistant App on your device (Android or iPhone).
Sign in to your Google account, or create a new account.
Tap the Compass Sign and search for ‘Toyota’.
Enter Toyota Owners credentials and tap ‘SIGN IN’.

Choose your Vehicle. Set up the new 4 digit PIN, reenter PIN to confirm and press ‘Save’ to link the Vehicle.

Note: This is not the same PIN used for the Remote Connect App.

If the Remote services for the selected vehicle need renewal or if the vehicle is not Remote Connect compatible and Remote services have never been enrolled, the customer will be presented with the messages as shown.

Download the Google Home App on your device from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Note: Requires iOS version 10.3 or later/ Android device running 5.0 and higher.

Open the Google Home App on your device (Android or iPhone).

Note: iPhone users first need to install Google Assistant App to use Google Home App for Setup.

Sign in to your Google account, or create a new account.
To set up a specific Google Assistant enabled device, tap ‘Add’ and on the next screen tap ‘Set Up Device’.
Android users- Go to ‘Account’, tap on ‘Settings’ and choose ‘Explore’ from the Services tab.
iPhone users - Go to ‘Account’ and tap ‘Explore’ (under Google Assistant).
Search for ‘Toyota’ in the search field shown.
Click on ‘Link’ to link your Entune 3.0 Remote Connect Account.
Enter Remote Connect/Toyota Owners credentials and tap ‘Sign In’.

Choose the Vehicle. Set up the new 4 digit PIN, reenter PIN to confirm and press ‘Save’ to link the
Vehicle.

Note: This is not the same PIN used for the Remote Connect App.

If the Remote services for the selected vehicle need renewal or if the vehicle is not Remote Connect compatible and Remote services have never been enrolled, the customer will be presented with the messages as shown.

By speaking the following: “Hey Google, ask/tell/talk-to Toyota” the Toyota “action” lets you access some of your Remote Connect commands via any Google Assistant enabled device.
By speaking the following: “Hey Google, ask/tell/talk-to Toyota” Toyota Action lets you access some of your Remote Connect commands via any Google Assistant enabled device.
Any command that invokes an action (start/stop engine, lock/unlock doors) will require guests to provide their 4 digit PIN.
Hey Google, ask/tell/talk-to Toyota to
  • “Start up my car”
  • “Turn on my car”
  • “Start the engine”
  • “Crank the engine”

Note: This is an example list of commands and is not exhaustive.

By speaking the following: “Hey Google, ask/tell/talk-to Toyota” Toyota Action lets you access some of your Remote Connect commands via any Google Assistant enabled device.
Any command that invokes an action (start/stop engine, lock/unlock doors) will require guests to provide their 4 digit PIN.

  • “Secure my car”

Note: This is an example list of commands and is not exhaustive.

By speaking the following: “Hey Google,ask/tell/talk-to Toyota” Toyota Action lets you access some of your Remote Connect commands via any Google Assistant enabled device.
Check your fuel level or check the status of engine/door commands. These commands do not ask for the guest’s PIN since they provide status rather than perform an action.
